Lilly pads Dimensional Challenge

                                            Sing unto him a new song, a photo by Hannah Nicole F on Flickr.
If you follow Lilly Pad Cards blog, you will remember the post about 2 weeks ago, about the Globecraft Memories frames. Well, I bought 2 right away for this weeks challenge, and absolutely love them!( they are cheap too!) I've been planning all week what I'd do with them, and decided this first one here would be a Mothers day gift, for My Grandma who loves music and plays piano.
So I searched all the bible verses with the word sing in it till I found the right one, to put in the frame.

The Bible Verse reads:
Sing unto him
a new song;
play skillfully
with a loud noise.
For the word of the
Lord is right;
and all his works are
done in truth.
          Psalms 33: 3, 4

Altering the globe frame:
The frame is made up of 3 layers of chipboared, a plastic (non yellowing) globe, the backing and the stand.
I took the top and bottom layers and painted them with my Ranger pearl paint dabber, originally I painted it across by smearing it but I found the dabbing effect much more textured, giving a marbled feel to it. I set them aside to dry (about a half hour), the middle layer I traced on a piece of white cardstock, and cut out, then distressed with dusty concord distress ink. and stamped the music background on it in black, and covered the chipboard with it.  I set those aside and typed up my verse and printed it on white cardstock.  Using the bottom layer as a template, I traced around the verse and cut it out. stamping the clef with pumice stone distress ink over the verse. The embellishments were made using my tattered florals bigz die and distressed with dusty concord.

The Assembly: (Lots of adhering8~)
Adhere the dome to the largest frame (the bottom layer), and adhere the others layers on top in size order putting the smallest on top.  Adhere the decorated piece/picture to the chipboard base, and adhere the layers and dome to it. Ta-daa!

Materials:
Globecraft Memories dome frame, Ranger pearl paint dabber Tim Holtz tattered florals die
dusty concord, peeled paint, and pumice stone distress ink. Hero Arts CG279 Musical clef and,  CG222 Music
background.

Thanks for stopping by, have a great weekend!
