Scramble Time!

Today was a 90 minute scramble challenge over on flickr, and the challenge this time was to create a frame. Sounds easy enough I know, but when you are being timed it can really make you frantic, and loose your train of thought, I failed twice and had to start over! Finally it hit me, just use the positive and negative of my die to create a frame for 2 cards! So I made it with a half hour to spare Phew!
Here are the 2 results

Some of you have asked how I can manage to make more then a single card during these challenges.
Well it is simple really, I just keep the cards as simple as possible depending on the challenge, usually just making a plain white card or one layer if I can. But believe me its always quite frantic, and not always that easy to do so.

Snow!.....and more cards.

I can finally say that we have snow! but not just any snow! we have nearly a whole foot of snow! Where I come from anything above 5 inches is a rarety, so even though the roads are covered and its extremly cold... we love our snow, and are looking forward to going out it in it..... At least my brother, sister and I can't wait to get out 8~).
This is the view of our back porch, the stick in the snow is the ruler showing how deep it was early yesterday morning.

In the meantime while it is just a bit too cold( talkin' single digits here) to venture out just yet, I have been inspired to make a few more cards, by no other the Hero Arts! who have said they are to give us a photo each Friday to inspire us crafters, who might be stuck in a hole;). Today's photo was blue and green everything, and as much as I Love those two colors it was a challenge for me to get them two to work, but I finally managed to come up with these.

For a description please visit my photostream, sorry I am to lazy to write full details in both places.

Thanks for stopping by!
and where ever you are hope you're  nice and warm!

January Card Chain Challenge

Hello Ladies'

Today I have a card I made for Deborahs Card Chain Challenge, A.K.A the CCC. For this challenge you make a card, using at least one of the 3 challenge options Deborah gives. and when you sign up you are put on a list with other participants and have to send the card to the person above you on the list. and come Febuary(or whatever the following month is after each of the challenges) Deborah posts all the cards sent and recieved from all over the world.

I chose to go by the sketch she provided but was still having trouble coming up with an idea, so I grabbed my new Hero Arts catalog for some inspiration, and the above is the final result!
Stamps used:  CG243 Asian flower pattern, LP195 3 Silhouettes, CL497 Find joy. Materials:  Spellbinders Nesties, Dusty Concord distress ink.

A Fresh start, + a card.

Hello.....Remember me? I used to post on this blog occasionally! lol 8~). I know I may have mentioned this before but I hope to blog a little more often from now on.
Anyway today I made this card For Hero Arts January challenge ; Masking, being inspired by the 2011 catalog, or doing the inside of the card.

I for one love masking, and dont often use the technique, but when I saw Lisa Spanglers Card on the HA blog, I was inpired by her design, and came up with this similiar card.  Using all distress inks and HA Stamps.

CG222 Musical Background
CL496 Layered Flowers
Walnut stain, Tea Dye, Peeled Paint, and Dusty Concord Distress inks
Embroidery Floss
Recollections brown pearls
