Inspired by Lucy

Huge Flower by Lucy Abrams
Huge Flower, a photo by Lucy Abrams on Flickr.  Lucy's Blog

I recently saw this Card in Lucy's Photostream on flickr, and was Strongly inspired, as you can see below ;~). Her designs are always so crisp, clean, and simple.  So I wanted to try it out, as most of my cards aren't very crisp or clean.

For my panel I took a piece of 5 1/4 x 4 cream cardstock, distressed it with tea dye and stamped old letter writing in the same ink. The flowers are a Tim Holtz die (tattered florals) which I distressed with barn door and stamped lightly with the envelope pattern. the leaves were hand cut and distressed with peeled paint from scraps. I then assembled the flower and leaves and adhered it to the panel and stamped the sentiment.

Materials: Tattered florals bigz dye, cream cardstock, neenah solar cardstock (card base), and Hero Arts diamond gems. Inks; Tea dye, barn door,  and peeled paint distress inks, Memories dye black ink.  Stamps: Envelope pattern S5507, truly appreciated CL380, old letter writing S4878.

Thanks for Stopping by!

Beautiful, Hannah - I loved Lucy's card, too and you described her crispness perfectly - something I need to work on also. Well done!
