Success and a Winner!

Saturday's Card Drive event at Archivers was quite a success, about 30 people showed up and handed over some fabulous creations for the troops, children included. I had such a blast! I also had the pleasure of meeting a Hero Arts flickr member in person! her name is Carol Bloomberg and is known on flickr as crafty carol. She whips up cards so fast is inspiring in itself just to watch her!
Today I just got back from shipping 208 cards! for the troops at the post office. Everything went so good and now I will be getting ready to hold another event in May (more info on that later).

Thank You So Much to all of you who donated supplies, mailed cards and showed up to the event and to Kathleen store manager at Archivers for making this all Possible, I really had a lot of fun getting it together and meeting new friends. You can see more pictures HERE on flickr

And now it is time to announce the winner of my Give away!

Sending and Recieving is Ohh So Pleasing

Minus the fact that it was last week and I never took the time to post about it.... But anyhow, I had participated in Deborah's March Card Chain Challenge where you send and recieve cards from around the world using a card sketch or color scheme. My card (or cards I should say because I sent her 2) was mailed to Jo in the UK, You can see her blog and the cards I sent her, HERE.
In the meantime I also recieved, this Beautiful card from Elise (a fellow participant) just 15 years old

this picture doesn't really do it justice, but I got tired of all the retakes (lol sorry) you can view Elise's Photostream on flickr HERE to see more of here Beautiful work.

Deborah has the challenge every month and sign ups are now open for April, Check it out HERE

I'd also Like to add that my give away for the card drive closes Sunday so if you participated don't forget to link to the cards you sent on Mr linky and I will announce the Winner on Monday Afternoon.

Thanks for stopping by and have an Awesome weekend!

The First Signs of Spring

Spring is fastly approaching and only one week away for the official first day.The temperature went quickly from 20 to 70, the air is fresh, the grass's color is coming back and the green leaves are coming back on the tree's. It is so nice to be outside and enjoying the fresh air and cool breeze, hear the birds chirping....Oh I thought this day would never come(overly exaggerated anyway it seemed far off). Within the last few weeks I have received several cards and donations for OWH, This Beautiful Bunch was made by Judy known on flickr as Judy1223and these Beauties are from Lin aka Quilterlin

and this is a donation of paper and embellies for the card drive was sent by Nancy aka nancyljk

And Joy aka dustypenny sent me these inks and papers to use for myself or use for the event.

and in this box here are all the cards ready to be shipped off.... can you guess how many are in here?

There is 70 cards and envelopes in this box! but not just from me, this is also from all the mailing participants, Judy, Lin, Sue, Patti and myself I can't believe I got that many from only 5 people! I can't imagine how many I might get from the store. I think I'll have to find a larger box 8~)

Oh and if any of you card makers are in the St. Louis area check out the lifestyle section in the papers this Saturday, if you are interested in coming to the event. Or click HERE. And if you mailed me some cards click HERE to enter in a give away.

Thanks for stopping by 8~)

Goodbye February, Hello March.

Wow I can't believe it's March already! and 3 months into 2010.
Some Cards have already arrived in the mail for my card drive event, and some will follow shortly. I've already seen some of them on flickr that will be coming soon, and they are gorgeous! I can't wait to see them personally. This is the first time I've ever done anything like this, and I like it so much, It must be wonderful being a shipper, seeing the constant stream of cards coming in. If I could find it possible I would consider becoming one myself.
Yesterday I finally finalized things with the STL Post Dispatch, and I've gotten nearly everything ready for the event at the end of the month, all I need now is adhesive and coloring utensils. If you are interested in coming or wish to mail some cards, click HERE for the details(and email me at hannah.ncole_f@yahoo.com)I am also having a give away HERE on my blog for this event as well.
The card I made above was the first card of this month and will be entered in Deborah's CCC HERE details for this card are on my flickr page HERE
