The End and the New Begining

Today is the very last day of the year 2009 and will soon only be but a memory in our Hearts. But we are now moving on ready to begin again, and make better that which has happened in our lifes and gone into the past.

For my Family, 2009 had many ups and downs. but going into the details would take forever to explain each one.

As for myself it was a year of learning; it had hardly been a year, since I had found a group of wonderful people through a contest, given by a rubber stamp making company, called Hero Arts. This was a weekly online contest, and you would upload your creation on their flickr group. I found out that it wasn't just about winning it was about be supportive and sharing our everday Inspiration.
This fantastic group also had many swaps and card sharing events as well as blog hops.
Since this past summer I have recieved about 16 packages and 23cards(4 of which are Christmas cards) altogether from Australia, Canada, The UK, Denmark, The Phillipines, and from several states in the US of A.

Here are the ATC's I recieved for the friendship swap hosted by Hero Arts themselves.

The Ornament swap hosted by me.

...and the cards I received from Deborah's CCC.

Now That is about the most fascinating thing that one little hobby can turn out to be so much in one year. I have learned so much and gained so much confindence in going beyond my comfort zone.

At this time everyone talks of having a new years resolution, but as far as I've seen no one ever really follows them, so I have decided to just see if I can beat my record each year in cards and photo's.

This year I took 1599pictures(some of which are videos)

and I made about 107 cards there was probably more then that but I didn't take pictures of all of them. So next year I need to beat these records instead of setting a resolution.
OH and starting tomorrow Linda and I will be competing against each other to see who can make the most out of the stash we both won from Deborah's blog morsel. More deets tomorrow. 8 ~ )

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!!!!!!!

and thanks as always for the comments.

2 weeks till Christmas and where AM I!

Hello and Welcome to my Blog,
Today is December 9th with only 2 weeks till Christmas and I have just know started making cards (at least I did the shopping last month or this would be bad) I hope to have more made by tomorrow but who knows.... So for now here is my cards and their details:

This snowman here is a new clear stamp I recently bought at my LSS... actually he came out last year during the holiday season but was bought out immediatly but this year I found him quite by accident and he was the last on the shelf too. You ask, "what is so special about this stamp ?"
well he is a strechy snowman made by Stampendous, and strechy as in you can stamp him tall and skinny, short and fat, or even melting, that is what I call cool!

This second one here was actually inspired by winter herself(though it isn't officially winter yet)
the swirls represent the howling wind blowing the snow around. what I did here was stamp the swirls on blue shimmer paper with chestnut roan and color the insides with a white watercolor pencil. As to the actual swirly stamp I don't know which company made it, A friend gave it to me.
But the sentiment is part of a clear Hero Arts set CL232 Jolly Christmas.

For this one I used more stamps from the CL232 Jolly Christmas set. And for some reason this picture didn't turn out very good, but here is what I did to make it:
for the snowy hills I took 2 pieces of white paper and tore the tops unevenly, then I layered them and glittered the edges(unfortunatly you can't see the glitter) and the blue piece I dotted with white pencil marks to appear like snowflakes, as for rudolph I used a gem for his nose and you may notice he has no antlers, that is because I do horrible at cutting out tiny details, so I gave him stubbs instead. LOL.

Here is another card using the CL232 Jolly Christmas. All I did here was emboss the card with a cuttlebug snowflake embossing folder, then added a strip of red paper with gold ribbon and a sentiment.

For this last one I used another Hero Arts clear set, borrowed from my mother, so at the moment I don't have the item number, but what I did was cut a strip out of the card and replaced it with a piece of acetate embossing the stamps in gold.

So yeah that's all I got done and I'm already running out of idea's, it's so hard to keep up with chores, school, and cardmaking, not to mention the holidays. I don't ever remember being this busy! Anyway I hope you enjoyed these cards because they will be soon mailed off to 5 lucky(or unlucky 8 ~) people. OH MY GOODNESS and before I forget Over on the Hero Arts blog there is lots going on and on their flickr group is a little frog prince hunt, check them out and go see!

An Eventful Day

Well actually yesterday was, today not so much. Anyway Yesterday was eventful because I had a great day; I walked to my Grandma's house in the morning in about 20 degrees, It felt so good, that I made the mistake and tried to run till my knee buckled, but the silence was wonderful! then after Church service we had a baby shower for my aunt who is expecting a boy after 3 girls, the games and prizes were hilarious! we had a blast especially when my older brother joined in the fun( but that's a story in itself you would've had to been there) after that my brother and I headed home and played World of Warcraft together for a while, and tried to play our favorite songs on the piano then he headed back to college and I went to bed and read Eragon, till I fell asleep.
It may sound boring and "UN"eventful to others, but for me it was a day well spent with my family and I can't wait to do it again for Christmas which is fast approaching.

Thanks for stopping by and leaving much appreciated comments.

2 Awards from 2 Ladies

Paula, and Carrie have both given me these awards below. Butbefore we start I would Love to have you check out their blogs.

This is the Me-Me award where I must share 7 secrets about myself, Anyway Here is 7 crazy things you might like to know about me that I've done throughout the years.

1. at age 4 I wanted to be a ballerina

2. I watched Starwars at a very young age(much to my Mom's dissapointment) and Loved it(to her surprise)I then had her put my hair up in bun braids for the next 3 years.

3. At age 6 I thought that when I grew up I'd like to have 8 kids (yea Wow is right!)

4. At age 8 I got into lego's with my older brother, we played by the hour, setting up armies.

5. At age 12 I became an older sister, the day she was born was the strangest day in my life, I had been the little one for 12 years, and when she did arrive, and we(my brother and I) came to the hospital room to visit our new baby, my Dad greeted us at the door with "Come welcome your new sister" the first thing I said was "Dad don't be mean we know it's a Boy! (my family expected a boy from the beginning)but of course it was a girl and I was wrong.

6. By age 16, I no longer cared for being a ballerina, or having 8 kids, but I slowly become a full blown tomboy, I played shoot em' up computer games, I played football with my Dad and big brother, I love baseball, and biking in the most windy day's down big hills with my hands in the air.

7. I am now 18 and still enjoy doing the things I did at 16 but know I also want to learn fencing(as in sword play) and I love Cardmaking, and I still have my dreamhouse blue prints but instead of starting a ranch in Montanna or Kentucky, I want to move to Colorado.

Wow another award where I have to talk about me? this is hard! hmm... 5 things about me is it?
let's see what I've got.
1. Well, I have a fobia of frisbee's due to being actually knocked out by one
2. I broke my left pinky toe years ago but because I just won't learn and wear shoes around the house it continues to rebrake( or fracture)
3. I have always been interested in Germany or" Duetchland" knowing that my fathers side of the family originally came from there( many many generations ago) and have been studying the language.
4. I love Music, and like just about everything but rap, but Country music is my fave. Especially any music by Tim Mcgraw or Rascal Flatts.
5. I have a horrible gum addiction.
Phewwww! that's enough about me! I wanna here about these 5 Ladies! (yes I am going to cheat and give these 2 away together to 5 people) to whom I'll pass on both of the awards

Ladies if you have already recieved one of these awards, I would love to have you accept the other, but if you do Not want to recieve either I will not be offended whatsoever.
Thanks for stopping by I always appreciate the comments
